As a preface to our review of The Force Awakens, we’ll admit that neither of us had seen a single Star Wars film before this one.
Before yesterday, we couldn’t even provide you with the proper definition of a Jedi, for crying out loud! We were almost forty years behind. There was no hope for us to catch up enough to make a trip down to the theater for the new movie worth it.
…But after hearing in an interview with JJ Abrams that the first film of the Star Wars sequel trilogy was made to be enjoyed even by those who are unfamiliar with the previous films in the iconic series, we knew that we had no choice but to give it a try.
What we decided is that it doesn’t take four decades to appreciate a good movie, which is great news for the Clueless like us, who can’t shake their curiosity about what was just named the tenth highest-grossing film of all time.
